Darius Scheider is an award-winning guitarist from France who has been working as a guitar player, composer and sideman in the USA since 2011.

 

“Live At The North Sea Jazz Festival '92,” the live album of The Rosenberg Trio, was a recording Darius Scheider heard as a teenager, which led him to the realization of his musical calling, and marked the beginning of his journey as a gypsy jazz guitarist.  

Free composer and forward-thinking visionary Darius Scheider’s artistic explorations are boundless. His unique musical fluidity, audacity, and ingenuity driving him to explore new possibilities in a musical genre firmly rooted in the tradition of Django Reinhardt are rare achievements and set Darius Scheider as a one-of-a-kind composer in contemporary music.

 Scheider has blazed an extraordinary journey as one of the most innovative gypsy jazz guitarist and composer of his time. Over the last two decades, the award-winning artist has made momentous advances as a band leader and recording artist, recording alongside some of the greatest musicians of his generation which includes Stephane Wrembel, Olli Soikkeli, Ben Powell, Scott Tixier, Aurélien Trigo, Amati Schmitt, Brady Winterstein, Mozes Rosenberg and many more. 

Scheider has also been working as a composer for movies and commercials since the mid 2000s, and as a sideman, he has recorded and been acting as a consultant for other fellow composers and producers looking to add this particular acoustic gypsy jazz sound to their music.
